What is group therapy?

Group therapy consists of 4-8 participants who meet weekly for a 90 minute session. Ideally, you will commit to attending group for at least 6 months to truly develop relationships with the other group members. Each week, group members will be allowed to process anything they are struggling with in their personal life and/or reflect on their relationships with other group members.

What are the benefits of group therapy?

Therapeutic factors of group therapy include:

  • Fostering connection

  • Decreasing shame

  • Improving interpersonal skills

  • Expressing one’s emotions in a safe, affirmative space

  • Altruistic impact of being able to help others within group

What will the therapist do?

My job will be to encourage authentic dialog, help members process their emotional experiences in real time and to lend expertise when necessary. Depending on the day, my role may be more or less active.

How do I get started?

First, you can schedule a free consultation with me to discuss the group in more detail. We will take our time to determine if group therapy is the right space for you.
