Adolescents & Teenagers
Adolescence is a period of expansion, exploration, and enjoyment, but it also comes with challenges, especially in terms of mental health. When engaging with adolescents, my objective is to journey alongside them, providing support to ensure they feel secure and grounded as they navigate the process of self-discovery.
Changes you make now will last a life time.
Today's adolescents encounter distinctive challenges, and in our collaboration, my aim is to empower you, enabling you to confront life's hurdles with resilience and readiness, preparing you for the complexities of the real world.
31% of adolescents suffer from an anxiety disorder.
I work with adolescents experiencing:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Eating Disorders
- Substance use
In the adolescent phase, we acquire the ability to distinguish ourselves from our familial roots, crafting individual and distinct identities. This period of identity development holds significant importance. Understanding one's self is a cornerstone of the journey toward adulthood.
Adolescence is characterized by expansive emotional experiences, where feelings are deeply felt. It becomes crucial to learn how to navigate this intricate aspect of our lives. Regrettably, in the absence of emotional regulation skills, numerous teenagers may turn to detrimental coping mechanisms, such as substance abuse, disordered eating, self-harm, and other unhealthy behaviors. Luckily, there are a variety of therapeutic tools to aid in this process.
While discovering our own identities, we simultaneously learn the art of connecting with others. Adolescence marks a period when friendships deepen, and romantic relationships begin to blossom. This is the time when we start to grasp the intricacies of expressing our own needs and understanding how to fulfill the needs of others.
